ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

WINCHESTER WAY, DARLINGTON

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to close:

WINCHESTER WAY

Footpath leading from Winchester Way to Portsmouth Place and also the footpath to Wells Close at the side of 38

The Order is necessary to allow works by Northern Powergrid to install an electricity cable.

The maximum duration of the temporary closure under this Order is 6 months commencing from 17th August 2026, it is anticipated that it will be effective for approximately 6 weeks.
