Piccadilly And Sackville Street - Restriction Of Waiting And Loading At Any Time

(AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to:
(a) extend the existing "Restricted Parking Zone" in Sackville Street to its junction with Piccadilly, which would restrict waiting and loading "at any time" (without any visible yellow road markings) except in marked bays, replacing the existing waiting and loading restrictions;

(b) introduce "at any time" loading restrictions at the junction of Piccadilly and Sackville Street;

(c) on the north-east side of Sackville Street:
(i) remove the "Blue Badge" disabled persons' parking place (2 bays) outside No. 1;

(ii) relocate the diplomatic parking place southeastward from outside Nos. 2 to 5 to outside No. 1;

(iii) introduce a 15-metre loading bay operating "at any time" with a maximum stay of 30 minutes, no return within 1 hour, outside Nos. 2 to 5 and No. 6; and

(iv) extend the pay-by-phone parking place outside Nos. 6 and 7 by 2.8 metres and relocate it northwestward by 5 metres, creating an extra parking bay; and

(d) on the south-west side of Sackville Street, adjacent to Nos. 37 to 43 and No. 41 Piccadilly:

(i) remove the cycle parking places located on the footway (10.3 metres) and on the carriageway (4 metres);

(ii) remove the pay-by-phone parking place (5 bays);

(iii) remove the residents' parking place (1 bay); and

(iv) introduce a 35-metre loading bay operating between midnight and 11.30 a.m., with a maximum stay of 30 minutes, no return within 1 hour - waiting and loading would be restricted in the loading bay between 11.30 a.m. and midnight.

3. The proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
