TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000151716435: The City of Manchester (Manchester Road & Kensington Road, Chorlton Ward) (Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Manchester Road. The City of Manchester (Manchester Road & Kensington Road, Chorlton Ward) (Temporary One-Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Kensington Road one-way (permitted direction of travel- East to west). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Kensington Road, Oswald Road, Ransfield Road vice versa.
The City Council is satisfied that these prohibitions are necessary in order to facilitate the installation of S278 works to new development. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 17th August 2026 to the 9th November 2026. The order shall come into operation on the 17th August 2026and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
