What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE

SHAKESPEARE STREET LANE, WALLSEND (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit all through traffic on Shakespeare Street Lane.

The proposed temporary Order is required for a safe working area while street lighting connection works are carried out.

The Order will come into force on 21st August 2026 for a period not exceeding approx. 4 weeks.
