THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(KENNERLEY ROAD, DAVENPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Kennerley Road, Davenport, from Buxton Road to Abergele Street, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow for works to install new chambers and service connections. It is estimated these works will last two days.
The following diversions will be provided: Northbound diversion: Buxton Road, Higher Hillgate, Longshut Lane, Wellington Road South, Bramhall Lane and vice versa. Southbound diversion: Bramhall Lane, Woodsmoor Lane, Moorland Road, Woodsmoor Lane, Buxton Road, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians.
This Order is to come into operation on 29 August 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/18234135/09.
