(BRAEFIELD DRIVE & ORCHARD PARK AVENUE, THORNLIEBANK) TEMPORARY RESTRICTION TO USE OF ROAD ORDER 2026
On the 27th July 2026 The East Renfrewshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order authorises:
- the restriction of vehicular access on a section of Braefield Drive, Thornliebank - from its junction with Orchard Park Avenue south-westwards for a distance of approximately 20 metres or thereby,
- the prohibition of parking on sections of Orchard Park Avenue, Thornliebank – between properties numbered 172 and 200 (both sides).
The Order has been promoted in order to facilitate the safe operation of Scottish Water ironworks repairs on or near the road, scheduled to be carried out from 08:00 on Wednesday 2nd September to 17:00 on Monday 14th September 2026.
The Order authorises the closure of the road for the duration of the works.
Vehicular access to properties within the extents of the closure may be permitted by the contractor on site only when it is possible to do so in conjunction with the works going on at the time. Access for emergency vehicles attending an incident will be maintained at all times.
Alternative route: Braefield Drive – Rockmount Avenue – Sherwood Drive – Orchard Park Avenue and vice versa.
The parking prohibition will be applied to sections of the road as and when required relative to the progress of the works and will apply to all vehicles with the exception of those associated with the works and emergency vehicles attending an incident.
