What is happening?

(Footpath 29, Coggeshall) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporary close Footpath 29, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree from its junction with St Peters Road to its junction with Thimble Street, approximately 200 metres.

Diversion route: Thimble Street, Bayes Avenue, Colchester Road, St Peters Road and vice versa

The closure is scheduled to commence on 03 August 2026 to 12 October 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public to allow footpath improvement works.

The Order will come into effect on 03 August 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
