Everest Drive, Blackpool - Temporary Traffic Prohibition
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL
(EVEREST DRIVE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to facilitate the carriageway resurfacing. The effect of the Order will be to:
(a) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Everest Drive between its junction with Rivington Avenue and its junction with Norbreck Road.
(b) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from its junction with Hilary Avenue.
(c) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from its junction with Caxton Avenue.
(d) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from its junction with Gregory Avenue.
(e) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from its junction with Hanover Crescent.
(f) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from its junction with Falkirk Avenue.
(g) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from its junction with Lanark Avenue.
(h) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from its junction with Duncan Avenue.
(i) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from the unnamed alleyway situated between Duncan Avenue and Norbreck Road.
(j) No left or right turn onto Everest Drive from the gated alleyway situated between Lanark Avenue and Norbreck Road.
Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained wherever possible. NB. Vehicular access will not be permitted whilst works are being undertaken to plane the carriageway and laying of the binder. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.
The proposed Order will commence on 20 August 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 14 days.
