What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (OLD CHURCH STREET) 2026 

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.

Old Church Street to be closed from the junction of Mallord Street to the junction of King's Road, and Mallord Street to be closed at the junction of Old Church Street.

The road is to be closed to vehicles for utility works.

The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Monday 17th August 2026 until 18.00hrs on Wednesday 26th August 2026, with backup dates of Monday 24th August 2026 until Wednesday 2nd September 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Old Church Street diverted Northbound traffic may use Kings Road, Sydney Street, Fulham Road, Old Church Street.

Old Church Street diverted Southbound traffic may use Old Church Street, Fulham Road, Beaufort Street, Kings Road. Mallord Street diverted through traffic may use Mallord Street, The Vale, Mulberry Walk, Old Church Street, or Mallord Street, The Vale, King's Road.Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.

• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
