What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (C122 Channel View Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Channel View Road – from the junction with U2163 Fairlight Road to the junction with U2163 Wannock Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C122 Channel View Road – C558 Royal Parade – B2106 Royal Parade, Sidley Road, Beach Road – A259 Seaside and vice versa.

The Order commences 19 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 19 and 20 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. If you require further information telephone Network Management on 0345 608 0193.

The East Sussex (U2144 Pevensey Road and U2135 Lismore Road, Eastbourne)

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Pevensey Road & Lismore Road – from the junction with U2133 Bolton Road to the junction with A259 Susans Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Susans Road, Seaside Road – U2145 Cavendish Place, Elms Avenue – B2106 Grand Parade, Devonshire Place – A259 Memorial roundabout – U2133 Bolton Road.

The Order commences 19 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Kings Drive – from the junction with U2081 Park Avenue to the junction with A2021 Rodmill roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Rodmill roundabout, Kings Drive, Prideaux Road, Lewes Road, Bedfordwell Road – A2040 Upper Avenue, Upper Avenue roundabout, Upper Avenue, The Avenue – A259 Upperton Road – A2270 Upperton Road, Willingdon Road, Crossways roundabout – A2021 Kings Drive and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 29 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
