NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the length of Carlton Road, Turvey from May Road to Turvey Loop.
This temporary road closure is required to aid traffic management for footway resurfacing on both sides of the carriageway and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 20th August 2026 to 2nd September 2026

This temporary road closure is required for various carriageway patching and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Access will be maintained at all times for emergency services and for residents who reside within the closure. Gatemen will be positioned at the junction of Templars way and Souldrop Road to assist with access.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO EXTEND THE WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN RUSHDEN ROAD, WYMINGTON
Reason for Proposal:
Bedford Borough Council proposes to extend the waiting restrictions in Rushden Road, Wymington The restrictions are deemed necessary to ensure access for refuse and emergency vehicles into the new development. Effect of the Order:
1. To extend the ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions on the following length of road:
A Rushden Road, Wymington
(i) On its western kerb, from the boundary of Nos 115 and 113 for a length of 13.7 metres up to the existing waiting restrictions
Relevant proposal documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. They will also be available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/proposedtro. The documents will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the Order is made or until it is decided not to continue with the proposal. BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL (BLETSOE: PUBLIC FOOTPATH No. 5) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026
The above Order made on 16 July 2026 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish:-
All of Public Footpath number 5 Bletsoe that commences from a point at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0353/5912 in the environs of St Modwen Development Ltd, Thurleigh Airfield Business Park, Bedford then running in a generally north-east direction for approximately 184 metres at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0360/5928 approximately 174 metres north-east from the property known as St Modwen Development Ltd.
A copy of the Order and Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford by appointment from 10am to 4pm on Weekdays (Bank and Public Holidays excepted). A copy of the Order as made and the Order Map have been placed and may be downloaded free of charge from the Bedford Borough Council Website.
