(ABINGDON ROAD - PROHIBITED RIGHT HAND TURNS) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Abingdon Road at the junction of Kensington High Street.
The right-hand turns are to be suspended to allow utility works in the middle of the junction.
The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Friday 14th August 2026 until 18.00hrs on Saturday 15th August 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Diverted through traffic may use Kensington High Street, Wrights Lane, Marloes Road, Allen Street, Kensington High Street, Abingdon Road or Kensington High Street, Earl's Court Road, Pater Street. Or Abingdon Road, Cope Place, Earl's Court Road, Kensington High Street.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
