ORDER 2020 AMENDMENT NO.5
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Notice is given that DOVER DISTRICT COUNCIL under sections 1(1), 2 (1) to (3), 3 (2), 4 (1) and (2), 32 (1), 35 (1), 44, 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following order:-
1. Article 21 (a) - remove references to payment by coin or coins
2. Articles 2 (a) and 21 (a)-(i) (including Article 21 (i) (i)-(ii)) - replace references to pay by phone with references to payment by telephone payment system
3. Schedule 1 - removal of Broadlees Car Park, Dover (and to remove all references to the Broadlees Car Park, Dover from the Order of 2020); removal of Bushy Ruff Car Park, Alkham (and to remove all references to the Bushy Ruff Car Park, Alkham from the Order of 2020); and rename Coombe Valley Road Car Park, Dover to Victoria Street Car Park, Dover (and to amend all references to the Coombe Valley Road Car Park, Dover in the Order of 2020 to Victoria Street Car Park, Dover)
4. Walmer Castle and Deal Castle - removal of cash payments. Payment will now be by a telephone payment system or app at Walmer Castle. Deal Castle will have this plus card. Walmer EH members get free parking all day with display of a current membership sticker in their vehicle. Deal Castle customers will have 3 hours free parking on display of a current membership sticker and Pay & Display ticket in their vehicle, which can be obtained from the ticket machine.
5. Kearsney Abbey main car park - in addition to the need to register for 4-hours free parking, to adhere to the 4-hr maximum stay period. Registration can be made via Pay & Display machine or parking app.
6. The Street and Queens Road, Ash car parks - introduce a 4 hour maximum stay with no return within 2 hours parking restriction between the hours of 8.30am & 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday
