THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (PEEL MOAT ROAD AND BUCKINGHAM ROAD, HEATON MOOR)(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Peel Moat Road, Heaton Moor, from the junction of Harmsworth Drive to the junction of York Road. Buckingham Road, Heaton Moor, from approximately 35 metres west of the junction with Peel Moat Road in a northeasterly direction for approximately 100 metres, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow highway improvement and any associated works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 39 days. This Notice is issued to allow highway improvement and any associated works to take place. A diversion will be provided via St James Road, Shaw Road, Elms Road, Brownsville Road, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians. This Order is to come into operation on 20 August 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
