PELHAM AREA LORRY AND COACH BAN AMENDMENT

THE MERTON (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. 60) (AMENDMENT NO. ) TRAFFIC ORDER 202

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,

2. The general effect of the Order would be to amend the London Borough of Merton (Prescribed Routes) (No. 60) Traffic Order 1990 and replace the wording ‘Gladstone Road to Hartfield Road Link Road’ with ‘Sir Cyril Black Way’.

3. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including a plan which indicates the road or length of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected Mondays to Fridays during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

4. Any person desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment and Regeneration Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX, or alternatively by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/7.5PELHAM, no later than 21 August 2026.

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to convert sections of existing parking places in lengths of road generally fronting the locations referred to in the Schedule to this notice to single yellow line waiting restrictions matching the operational times of the controlled parking zone operating at each of those locations to facilitate proposed crossovers.

3. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which indicate the roads or lengths of roads to which the Orders relate, can be inspected Mondays to Fridays during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

4. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(EPSOM ROAD, LONDON ROAD(A24) AND LOWER 

MORDEN LANE, MORDEN (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

1. The Merton London Borough Council, with the agreement of Transport for London, hereby give notice that because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to thronging around Morden Park during an event, they have made a temporary Order to protect the public and maintain emergency routes, the effect of which will be to:-

(a) prohibit any person from causing or permitting any vehicle to enter or proceed in the nearside northbound lane of Epsom Road and London Road, Morden, between a point 10 metres north-east of a point opposite the north-eastern kerb-line of Holne Chase and a point opposite the south-western kerb-line of Rosedene Avenue (the northbound cycle lane will also be closed);

(b) prohibit any person from causing or permitting any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Epsom Road and London Road, Morden, at the north-west side, from a point 10 metres north-east of a point opposite the north-eastern kerb-line of Holne Chase to a point opposite the south-western kerb-line of Rosedene Avenue;

(c) impose a one-way working in Lower Morden Lane, from the eastern arm of the Beverley roundabout to its junction with Epsom Road (A24) in the general direction of east to west.

2. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such an extent as indicated by the placing of appropriate signs.

3. The alternative route for vehicles affected by the one-way working shall be via Tudor Drive and Epsom Road(A24).

4. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

5. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or

(c) vehicles using the temporary pick-up and drop-off waiting point located in London Road, the north-west side, from a point 15 metres south-west of a point opposite the south-western boundary of No. 241 London Road to a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 209 and 211 London Road, for picking-up and dropping-off of passengers.

6. The Order will come into effect at 7.30am on Friday 7th August 2026 and remain in force until 11pm Sunday 9th August 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(TRINITY ROAD, SW19) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate crane operations in Trinity Road, SW19, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works no person will:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Trinity Road, from its junction with The Broadway northward for a distance of 40 metres; or

(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait in the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above;

(c) enter or proceed on the western footway of Trinity Road in the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above.

3. Any designated parking place situated within the length of Trinity Road specified in paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. The restrictions and suspensions will only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to the properties adjacent the road or lengths of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above, insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works;

(e) any person requiring access to properties adjacent to the footway specified in paragraph 2(c) above.

6. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed using one or more of the following roads as required:-

Christchurch Road, Gladstone Road, Hartfield Road, Haydons Road, Merantun Way, Merton High Street, Merton Road, Priory Road, Queens Road, Sir Cyril Black Way and The Broadway.

7. Pedestrians affected by a footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.

8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

9. The Order will come into operation on Saturday 8th August 2026 and will remain in force for 3 months. It is currently anticipated that the crane works will take place on Saturday 8th August 2026 and Sunday 9th August 2026, with Saturday 15th August 2026 and Sunday 16th August 2026 as back-up dates.

(COPSE HILL, SW20) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that because of on-going gas works in Copse Hill, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to continue in force the provisions of a temporary notice issued under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 temporarily restricting traffic in Copse Hill.

2. During the works, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to:-

(a) enter or proceed in Copse Hill, SW20, from its junction with Ernle Road to its junction with High Cedar Drive;

(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above shall be suspended when and where appropriate traffic signs are being displayed.

4. The restrictions and suspensions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. It is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 80 metre sections at a time.
