What is happening?

THE BRENT (PARKING PLACES) (ZONE KQ) (NO.) ORDER 202

THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO.) ORDER 202

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

(a) replace the “pay & display” bay operating between 8.30am and 6.30pm on the north-east side of Salusbury Road, outside No. 65 to 71, with:

(i) single yellow line waiting restrictions operating between 7.00am and 6.30pm; and

(ii) loading restrictions operating between 7.00am and 10.00am and between 4.00pm and 6.30pm;

(b) replace the “pay & display” bay operating between 8.30am and 6.30pm on the north-east side of Salusbury Road, outside Nos. 91 to 99, with:

(i) a “pay & display” bay operating between 10.00am and 6.30pm (maximum stay of 2 hours and no return within 2 hours); and

(ii) waiting and loading restrictions operating between 7.00am and 10.00am;

(c) replace the “pay & display” bay (operating between 8.30am and 6.30pm) on the south-west side of Salusbury Road, outside Nos. 58 to 66, with:

(i) a “pay & display” bay operating between 7.00am and 4.00pm (maximum stay of 2 hours and no return within 2 hours); and

(ii) waiting and loading restrictions operating between 4.00pm and 6.30pm;

(d) replace the single yellow line waiting restrictions operating between 8.30am and 6.30pm with double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions:

(i) on the north-east side of Salusbury Road, outside Nos. 105 to 109;

(ii) on the south-west side of Salusbury Road, outside Nos. 116/124 to 132 Salusbury Road;

(iii) on the south-west side of Victoria Road, from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Salusbury Road, eastwards for a distance of 15.5 metres.

Note: All parking places, single yellow line waiting restrictions and loading restrictions referred to above would continue to operate on Mondays to Fridays.

3. The prohibitions referred to above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc. from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person's “Blue Badge” would apply.

4. Copies of the proposed Orders, of the relevant Orders of 1979 and 2019 (and of the Orders which have amended those Orders), of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of maps which indicate each length of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at Brent Customer Services, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ.

6. Persons desiring to make representations or to object to any of the proposed Orders, or to any of the proposals, should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, via email to trafficorders@brent.gov.uk, or in writing to the Head of Healthy Streets and Parking, Healthy Streets and Parking Service, 6th Floor West Wing, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley HA9 0FJ, quoting the reference TO/12/308/GD, to arrive no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
