Francis Avenue - Temporary Road Closure

Portsmouth City Council (Francis Avenue) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.130) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 17th August 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
PERCY ROAD
From its junction with Francis Avenue for 20 metres.
MANNERS ROAD
From its junction with Francis Avenue for 20 metres.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Openreach works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 17th August 2026 to 28th August 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Francis Avenue, Manners Road, Talbot Road and Francis Avenue, Percy Road, Talbot Road, Manners Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
