Fawcett Road - Temporary Road Closure

Portsmouth City Council (Fawcett Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.132) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 17th August 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
MANNERS ROAD
From its junction with Fawcett Road for 10 metres.
RUGBY ROAD
From its junction with Fawcett Road for 10 metres.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 17th August 2026 to 4th September 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place from 07:30 to 16:30 between Monday to Friday and from 08:00 to 12:00 on Saturday. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
Manners Road: Fawcett Road, Jessie Road, Talbot Road.
Rugby Road: Fawcett Road, Cleveland Road, Eton Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
