(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION ON USE OF ROAD) ORDER 2026
THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS give notice that they have made the above order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A702 Edinburgh -Abingdon Trunk Road forming the circulatory carriageway of the northern roundabout of the Lothianburn junction. roundabout from the extended western kerb line of the central splitter island between the northbound entry to the A702/A720 northern roundabout and the southbound exit from the A702/A720 northern roundabout, eastwards for a distance of 5 metres or thereby. The Order, which is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, will be in operation from 1st August 2026 until 31st January 2028 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for carrying out the works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
Alternative routes for traffic during the prohibition will be signposted. Detailed descriptions can also be obtained at AMEY, Caledonian House, West Kinfauins, Perth, PH2 7XY.
