What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BELDAMS LANE, BISHOPS STORTFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beldams Lane, Bishops Stortford from its junction with A1060 Hallingbury Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 874m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A1060 (Hallingbury Road/London Road), A1250 Dunmow Road, Haymeads Lane, Highfield Avenue and Linkside Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 21 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THORLEY LANE EAST, BISHOPS STORTFORD) ORDER 2026 NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Thorley Lane East, Bishops Stortford from its junction with Bishops Stortford Public Footpath No.031 south eastwards for a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”). There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 24 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF AERODROME WAY, GREEN TYE/ALLENS GREEN) ORDER 2026 NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Aerodrome Way, Green Tye/Allens Green from its junction with 3U42 (unnamed road) south eastwards to its junction with Blounts Lane, a distance of approximately 1320m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Aerodrome Road, 3U42 (unnamed road), B1004 Hadham Road, A1184 (St James Way/London Road/Cambridge Road), Parsonage Lane, Trimms Green and Aerodrome Road or via Aerodrome Road, B1004 Hadham Road, A1184 (St James Way/London Road/Cambridge Road), Parsonage Lane, Trimms Green and Aerodrome Road. The Order is needed because Gilston development works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 6 months to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BISHOPS STORTFORD PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.060) ORDER 2026 NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Bishops Stortford Public Footpath No.060 from its junction with Cannons Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 123m (“the Public Footpath”). There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath. The Order will come into effect from 7 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.
