CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND ON STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2026 (JESMOND PARK WEST AREA VARIATION TROST18) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne propose to make an Order under Sections 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53, 63 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which would be to vary the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Waiting Restrictions and On Street Parking Places) Order 2026 (“the 2026 Order”).

2. The effect of the proposed Order is to designate the following roads / length of roads as a permit parking place between the hours of 11am to Noon and 3pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday, for H1 permit holders - North Heaton Zone consisting of the following roads -

• Jesmond Park East - full length
• Jesmond Park West - between Melbury Road and Jesmond Park East
• Loweswood Close - full length, and
• Melbury Road - full length.

The new roads/length of roads listed above are proposed to be added to the current H1 parking place zone, and the new eligible properties to be included within the H1 parking place zone will be added to the 2026 Order, and therefore the provisions and conditions of that Order will apply.

NOTE: Resident parking permits will be available for each eligible property (a maximum of 2 per property) which will exempt permit holders from the restriction. The cost of a first resident permit will be £35 per annum, and a second resident permit will be £90 per annum. A visitor parking permit may also be issued to eligible residential properties (a maximum of one per property). The cost of a visitor permit will be £35 per annum. Permits may also be available (if they would cause no unreasonable detriment to resident parking) for any property occupied by a business or charity (maximum numbers apply). Permits will be issued for Parking Zone H1.

Details of permit issue/renewal, conditions of use, discounts and types of permit are contained in the 2026 Order.

Jesmond Park East - Nos. 1, 3, 6, 7, 8 to 18
(even), Denehurst, Blackfords and Nunthorpe
Jesmond Park West - Nos. 1, 2, 3 (Flats 1 to 5
Jesmont), 4, 4A, 5, 5A, 5B, 6, 7A, 7B and 8
Loweswood Close - Nos. 2 to 7
Melbury Road - No. 11 Danemead, Glenarife, Hill
House, Kismet, Menteith, Sycamore Lodge, The
Haining, Tree Corner, West Park
Wyncote Court - Nos. 1 to 9 (odd)

If you wish to object to, or make other representations about, the proposal specified in this Notice or any of its provisions you should send your objection or representation by 25th August 2026 quoting reference TROST18 to Newcastle Parking Services, P.O. Any objection or representation MUST be made in writing and where an objection is made, it must state the grounds of the objection.
