The Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make the above named Orders under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 33, 35, 36, 39, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 65(1), 81, 84, 122 and 124 (and part IV of Schedule 9) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the Act of 2004") as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act.
The effect of these Orders would be to produce five Stockton Borough wide traffic orders relating to moving traffic, weight limit, static (parking), off street car parks and speed limit restrictions. This will affect the entirety of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council administration boundary.
This will include producing map-based schedules and digitising all restrictions as part of this process on to the Council's mapbased system.
All previous traffic orders relating to moving traffic, weight limit, static (parking), speed limits and off-street parking places (car parks) will be revoked and replaced as part of this process.
This will also include the following:
• Introduction of articles relating to map-based schedules
• Clearly set out legislative powers to propose and make the orders
• Relevant definitions added and reviewed for administrative accuracy
• Updated provisions to ensure consistency across the network
• The mapping of current moving, static and speed limit restrictions to create accurate mapbased schedules for the highway network
• Schedule plans denoting the car park location and boundaries
The Order is not expected to result in any changes on the ground or to how existing restrictions (which will be revoked and replaced by the restrictions new Order) operate or are enforced, ensuring that all restrictions in the network are backed by a compliant traffic order.
Full details of the proposed Orders, Notice of Intent and a statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be examined at the Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours and on the Council's website (Traffic Orders).
The traffic orders to be revoked can be viewed by contacting HTD.DTRO@stockton.gov.uk. The proposed map- schedules can be viewed on the TraffWeb system under 'Public Consultation' using the following link, https://stockton.traffweb.app/traffweb/2/Haveyoursay.
