What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE

BUS LANES, OFF STREET PARKING PLACES, SPEED LIMITS, TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS, ON STREET PARKING PLACES AND WAITING AND LOADING CONSOLIDATION ORDERS 2026

The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside hereby gives notice that, under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 19, 29, 32, 35, 45, 46, 46A, 47, 49, 53, 63 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, on 20 July 2026 it made the following Consolidation Orders. The effect of these Consolidation Orders is to revoke the Orders listed below, re-enact the provisions without any change of substance and, where necessary, to update references to the enabling regulations:

1. The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Bus Lane) (Consolidation) Order 2026, which will revoke and re-enact The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Bus Lane) (Consolidation) Order 2025 and subsequent Variation Order 1 of 2026.

2. The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Off Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2026, which will revoke and re-enact The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Off Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2025 and subsequent Variation Order 1 of 2026.

3. The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Speed Limits) (Consolidation) Order 2026, which will revoke and re-enact The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Speed Limits) (Consolidation) Order 2025 and subsequent Variation Order 1 of 2026.

4. The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Traffic Movements) Consolidation Order 2026, which will revoke and re-enact The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Traffic Movements) Consolidation Order 2025 and subsequent Variation Orders 1 and 2 of 2025.

5. The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2026, which will revoke and re-enact The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2025 and subsequent Variation Orders 1, 2 and 3 of 2025 and Variation Orders 1 and 2 of 2026.

6. The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2026, which will revoke and re-enact The Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2025 and subsequent Variation Orders 1,2,3,4 and 5 of 2025 and Variation Order 1 of 2026.

The Orders will come into operation on 31 July 2026.

Documentation giving more details relating to the making of the orders may be inspected at the address below between 8.30am and 4.00pm on Mondays to Fridays for a period of six weeks beginning with the date of this Notice or on the Council’s website www.northtyneside.gov.uk (Statutory Notices).
