Oxford - One-Way Order, Parking Changes & Footpath Closure

 

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(OXFORD AREA – VARIOUS ROADS) (MAP BASED) (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (VARIATION No.1) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that on 27 July 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 1 August introduces in Westbury Crescent (Rose Hill) a One-way restriction as follows:

• Eastbound – vehicles entering Westbury Crescent from Rose Hill would be required to use the ‘northern’ side of Westbury Crescent to access Church Hill Road, and

• Westbound – vehicles from Church Hill Road would be required to use the ‘southern’ side of Westbury Crescent to access Rose Hill.

There are exemptions for cycling in both directions throughout, including electrically assisted cycles and road legal e-scooters.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford Area – Various Roads) (Map Based) (Traffic Management) Order 2026 is amended accordingly.

If you wish to question the validity of this Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from 27 July 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(OXFORD CITY – VARIOUS ROADS) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION No.) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The order further amends the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford City – Various Roads) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026 with the effect of removing a Disabled Persons Parking Place (DPPP) as shown below. The Map tile number is shown also.

Removal of a DPPP:

• Boundary Brook Road — South side; outside No. 16 — FA69

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order as detailed below:

Nature of Restriction: Footpath Closure

Location: Footpath Between Hunting Close and Fletcher Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire

Description of Works: LV MAIN OVERLAY WORKS INCLUDING TRACK WORK being carried out by SCOTTISH AND SOUTHERN POWER DISTRIBUTION (SSPD).

Duration: Starting on 19/10/2026

The anticipated completion date is 06/11/2026 (inclusive)

(Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months, or 6 months for footpaths, bridleways, cycle tracks and byways that are open to all traffic).

Suggested Alternative Route: Hunter Close, James Wolfe Road, Hollow Way, Cranmer Road, Brasenose Driftway, Fletcher Road.
