TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH ZCK/51 (CHARLTON KINGS PARISH) CHELTENHAM BOROUGH

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of public footpath ZCK/51 from its junction with footpaths ZCK/48 and ZCK/49 at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SO 95853 2002 and runs in a generally south south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 58 metres to the boundary of the play area at OSGR 9551 1996.

The closure is necessary due to continuing issues relating to structural defects in the metal railway bridge.

This temporary closure Order came into force on the 11th September 2015 however works to rectify the problem were not completed, and further extensions were subsequently granted until 30th September 2026. The bridge remains unsafe for public use and a further extension has been granted until 30th September 2027 or until completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
