Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1),45, 46, 49, 53, and Parts IV and III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections (1), 2(1) to (4), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1),45, 46, 49, 53, and Parts IV and III of Schedule 9 of the Road Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

(Crow Pond Road, Terling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Crow Pond Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 135m south west of its junction with Hatfield Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03167297401 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stoptap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).
An alternative route is available via Terling Hall Road, B1137, Station Road, Terling Road, Hatfield Road and vice versa (with access only into Crow Pond Road, Church Road and Terling Hall Road).
The Order will come into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Harrow Hill, Toppesfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harrow Hill, Toppesfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Gainsford End Road to its end a distance of approximately 1685m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2397539 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
No alternative route is available.

(Hollow Road, Kelvedon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hollow Road, Kelvedon in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 895m south east of its junction with Woodhouse Lane for a distance of approximately 1475m in a south easterly, north easterly, south easterly, north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 17 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387785 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Church Street, B1024, West Street, A120, B1018, Temple Lane, Western Road, Parkgate Road and vice versa.

(Hyde Lane, The Salings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hyde Lane, The Salings in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 75m north east of its junction with Mounts Farm Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03167570990 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National) Limited.
An alternative route is available via Bardfield Road, Braintree Road, Brook Street, B1057, B1053 and vice versa (with access only into Church End, Shalford Green, Victoria Hill and Hyde Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Cressing Road, Witham/Witham Road Cressing) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)
(South Street, Braintree and Bocking) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close that length of Cressing Road, Witham/Witham Road Cressing in the District of Braintree from the junction of Polecat Road to the junction of Rickstones Road a distance of approximately 5680m.
- To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of South Street, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Silks Way, to its junction with Railway Street as detailed in “The Essex County Council (South Street, Braintree) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2010” for the duration of the closure only.
- To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway/suspension is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 13 nights (19:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2397877A & EP201EH2397881A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while signage installation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
Alternative routes are available via:
- B1018, Powers Hall End, Flora Road, Faulkbourne Road, The Street, Church Hill, The Street, Witham Road, The Green, Witham Road, The Street, Notley Road, B1256, B1018 and vice versa.
- Polecat Road, Church Road, Temple Lane, Western Road, Park Road, Church Road, Rickstones Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Harebell Drive, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harebell Drive, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Bramble Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC41100JWGTDDW5V – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting works are undertaken by Openreach.

The Order came into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.18) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close the length of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 23rd July 2026; exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
