What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH VARIATION ORDER

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 AND 333(7) AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14
STRATFORD-ON-AVON DISTRICT COUNCIL
SB34 and SB35 STRATFORD -UPON-AVON (PART OF) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2022 (VARIATION) ORDER 2026

On 24 June 2026 Stratford-on-Avon District Council confirmed the above Order. The effect of the Order will be to amend the Stratford-on-Avon SB34 and SB35 Stratford-Upon-Avon (Part of) Public Path Diversion Order 2022 as described in Schedule 1 to this notice and as shown on the order map.

A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at Stratford-on-Avon District Council Offices, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6HX from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Copies of the Order and map may be bought there at the price of £5.

This Order came into force on the date that Stratford-on-Avon District Council confirmed the Order, but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act. Date: 02 July 2026.

THE SCHEDULE
The following modifications are made to the 2022 Order:
PART 1
Description of existing path or way (SB34)
No changes
PART 2
Description of existing path or way (SB35)
In Part 2 of the Schedule, on the first line replace grid reference “420205 253714” with grid reference 420194 253732
In Part 2 of the Schedule, on the second line replace “”84 metres” with “83 metres”
In Part 2 of the Schedule, on the third line insert, after Point E “(Grid Reference 420163 253785)”
Such that, as amended, the full description in Part 2 of the Schedule reads:
PART 2
Description of existing path or way (SB34)
From Point D (Grid reference 420194 253732), as indicated on the Order Plan, running generally in a north north west direction for a distance of 83 metres to Point E “(Grid Reference 420163 253785)
PART 3
Description of site of alternative highway
In Part 3 of the Schedule, delete the entire description:
For footpath SB34, from Point A, as indicated on the Order Plan, running in a north easterly direction (running through Point G) for a distance of approximately 170 metres to Point C (Grid Reference 420293 253844) and for Footpath SB35 from Point D as indicated on the Order Plan, running generally in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 26 metres to Point F (Grid Reference 420201 253742), then running generally in a north north east direction for approximately 20 metres to Point G (Grid reference 420206 253761). The new routes for SB34 and SB35 shall have a minimum width of 2 metres.
In Part 3 of the Schedule, insert:
Public footpath 2 metres wide commencing at Point A, as indicated on the Order Plan, (Grid Reference 420131 253738) running in an easterly direction for approximately 47 metres to Point D (Grid Reference 420194 253732) then turning and running north north east for approximately 26 metres to Point G (Grid Reference 420190 253778), then north easterly for a distance of approximately 94 metres to Point I (Grid Reference 420272 253833) and then arcing around in an easterly direction for a distance of 77 metres to its junction with footpath SB33 at Point H (Grid Reference 420334 253830).
