ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS ORDER 2026 – (Public Footpath No. 5 (Part) In the Parish of Alderley Edge)
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a)) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit [pedestrians/other users] on the following:
That part length of Public Footpath No. 5 Alderley Edge which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 8380 7805 and runs in a generally north direction for approx. 160m. to OSGR SJ 8384 7820.
The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger posed by cabling installation works due to be carried out on or near the Public Right of Way.
The works are expected to take approximately 7 days to complete.
The Order will come into force on 24th August 2026 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
The Order does not prevent at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the path or way affected by this Order.
An alternative route is available via Blackshaw Lane.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:
That length of Public Footpath No. 7 Knutsford which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 7535 7876 and runs in a generally east south direction for approx. 202m. to OSGR SJ 7551 7871
The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger while sediment removal works are carried out on or near the public footpath.
The Order will come into force on 1st September 2026 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
