NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close College Lane in East Grinstead from Estcots Drive to De La Warr Road.
The road closure is needed to allow maintenance to the railway bridge to be carried out in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 17 August 2026 and remain in force until 28 August 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(East Grinstead: Public Footpath 21cEG)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Public Footpath 21cEG in East Grinstead from its junction with Harwoods Lane, southwards to its junction with Bridleway BW19cEG.
The closure of this route is needed due to the unsafe condition of a footbridge.
The Order extends the operation of a previously issued emergency closure notice and came into effect on 29 July 2026. The Order will remain in force for 6 months, or until works to repair the bridge are completed, whichever is earlier.
Unfortunately, during the operative period of this Order, no alternative route is available using the Public Rights of Way network.
