(Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in that length of Colne Road, Halstead in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Sudbury Road to its junction with Haubourdin Close, a distance of approximately 450m.
“The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time” restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The restriction is scheduled to commence on 26th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02209879866 – Portakabin). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while temporary structure delivery works are undertaken by Portakabin.
The Order will come into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Nunnery Street, Castle Hedingham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nunnery Street, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 250m south east of the north east of its junction with Crouch Green for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03167523363/1 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while burst main repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).
An alternative route is available via A1017, Station Road, Queen Street, St James Street and vice versa (with access only into Bayley Street, Pye Corner and Nunnery Street).
The Order came into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
