NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B462 Watford Road, Radlett from its junction with Gills Hill Lane south westwards to its junction with Abbey View, a distance of approximately 87m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B462 Watford Road, Park Road, A5183 (Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street/Elstree Hill North/High Street/Elstree Hill South), A41 (North Western Avenue/Watford Bypass)/Tylers Way/Elton Way), and B462 (Hartspring Lane/Radlett Road/Watford Road).

or via B462 Watford Road, Park Road, A5183 (Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street/Elstree Hill North/High Street), A411 (Watford Road/Elstree Road), A41 (Tylers Way/Elton Way) and B462 (Hartspring Lane/Radlett Road/Watford Road).

(Temporary Closing Of B651 (Station Road/High Street), Wheathampstead)

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B651 (Station Road/High Street), Wheathampstead from its junction with the B653 Lower Luton Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with Church Street, a distance of approximately 398m ("the length of Roads"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B653 Lower Luton Road, B652 Station Road, A1081 (St Albans Road/Harpenden Road/St Peters Street) and B651 (Stonecross/Sandridge Road/St Albans Road/High Street).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 18 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chiswell Green Lane, St Albans from its junction with Windflower Avenue south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with St Stephen Public Footpath No.021, a distance of approximately 559m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Chiswell Green Lane, B4630 Watford Road, Ragged Hall Lane, Furzebushes Lane and Chiswell Green Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 20 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing And Waiting Restrictions Various Roads In St Albans)

Order No.4 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Etna Road, St Albans from its junction with A4147 Catherine Street south westwards to its junction with Worley Road, a distance of approximately 129m.

An alternative route will be via A4147 Catherine Street, Gombards and Worley Road.

2. that length of Salisbury Avenue, St Albans from its northernmost junction with Beaumont Avenue south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 484m.

An alternative route will be via Beaumont Avenue and Salisbury Avenue.

3. that length of Stapley Road, St Albans from its junction with Worley Road south westwards to its junction with Upton Avenue, a distance of approximately 64m.

An alternative route will be via Worley Road, Church Street, A5183 Verulam Road, Britton Avenue, Selby Avenue and Upton Avenue

or via Upton Avenue, Russell Avenue, Drovers Way, A4147 Catherine Street and Etna Road.

4. that length of The Dell, St Albans from its junction with Sandpit Lane south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Worley Road, St Albans from its junction with Church Crescent eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Etna Road, a distance of approximately 256m.

An alternative route will be via Church Crescent, A5183 (Verulam Road/Folly Lane), A4147 (Folly Lane/Catherine Street) and Etna Road.

or via Stapley Road, Upton Avenue, Britton Avenue, A5183 (Verulam Road/High Street), A1081 (Chequer Street/St Peters Street), A4147 (Catherine Street/Folly Lane), A5183 (Folly Lane/Verulam Road) and Church Crescent.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of St Albans City Public Footpath No.061) Order 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using St Albans City Public Footpath No.061 from its junction with Cottonmill Lane south eastwards to its junction with Riverside Road, a distance of approximately 136m ("the Public Footpath").

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of Cottonmill Lane and the footway situated on the north east side of Riverside Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath.

The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hoggs End Lane, St Albans from its junction with the Cherry Tree Lane/Green Lane roundabout south eastwards, north eastwards, eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with A5183 Redbourn Road, a distance of approximately 3659m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Cherry Tree Lane, Punch Bowl Lane and A5183 Redbourn Road.

The Order is needed because trial hole investigation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Homefield Road, Radlett from a point 84m north west of its junction with the Ridgeway north westwards for a distance of approximately 50m ("the Road").

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 12 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Roestock Gardens, Colney Heath from its junction with Roestock Lane south westwards and clockwise for a distance of approximately 170m ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Jameson Road, Harpenden from its junction with Ox Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 111m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Ox Lane, Clarendon Road and Jameson Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 3 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The Hertfordshire (Osier Road, Colney Heath) (20 MPH Zone) Order 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a new 20 mph zone in part of Colney Heath, St Albans as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 30 July 2026 during office hours, at: Main Reception, Farnham House, Stevenage, or on-line at: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders, by selecting St Albans and looking at Ref: - SA00526.
