Temporary Closure of Fleet Street, Beaminster

DORSET Council has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along FLEET STREET, BEAMINSTER between no. 29 Fleet Street and no. 37 Fleet Street, a distance of approximately 25 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 03 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 August 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access works to attend to urgent water quality issues.

On this occasion there will be no specified alternative route for diverted traffic.

Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway W21/73, Beaminster

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Bridleway W21/73, from grid reference ST4708, 0166 to grid reference ST 46871 02198, a distance of approximately 600 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It came into operation on 27 July 2026, for a period of 14 days but it will remain in force for 26 weeks and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This Order will enable Paul Basham Associates to enable construction of a new development.

On this occasion there will be no suitable alternative route.

Temporary Closure of C96, South Bowood

DORSET COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along C96, SOUTH BOWOOD between its junction with B3162 and Emmanuels Cross, a distance of approximately 1215 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 August 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to carry out fibre cable installation and splicing.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Bridge Street - Drury Lane - A3066 - Pymore Lane - B3162

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Lime Hill, Powerstock

DORSET COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19 August 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[1] To impose a temporary road closure on LIME HILL, POWERSTOCK between Bottom Farm and Old Reading Room Cottage, a distance of approximately 340 metres.

[2] To impose a parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along LIME HILL, POWERSTOCK between Bottom Farm and Old Reading Room Cottage, a distance of approximately 340 metres.

[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along LIME HILL, POWERSTOCK between Bottom Farm and Old Reading Room Cottage, a distance of approximately 340 metres.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
