(Brook Lane & Pipers Tye, Galleywood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Brook Lane & Pipers Tye, Galleywood in the City of Chelmsford, from the junction with Watchouse Road to the junction with Vicarage Lane a distance of approximately 980m.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2399747 & EP201EH2399747A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/ clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Galleywood Road, Vicarage Lane, Church Street, West Hanningfield Road, Brook Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Colam Lane, Little Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Colam Lane, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Holybread Lane to its junction with North Hill a distance of approximately 1325m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2408952 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Holybread Lane, North Hill and vice versa.

(Cooksmill Green, Highwood/Roxwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cooksmill Green, Highwood/Roxwell in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 180m north west then north east of the junction with Ongar Road for a distance of approximately 1195m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30046064797 & EC30060274005 – Ground Control). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree works are undertaken by Ground Control.
An alternative route is available via Highwood Road Roundabout, Ongar Road and vice versa (with access only into Cooksmill Green, Radley Green Road, Newney Green, Victoria Road, Bulimers Way).
The Order will come into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Grange Road, Pleshey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Grange Road, Pleshey in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 65m south east of its junction with Blakes Lane for a distance of approximately 110m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGTVNP1P – Openreach).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of South Hanningfield Road, South Hanningfield/ Rettendon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 445m north east of the junction with Church Lane for a distance of approximately 390m in a north easterly then south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th August 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20153095008 & EP201EH2403571 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of East Hanningfield Road, Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 125m south east of its junction with Alexander Mews for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30051057749 – UK Power Networks).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Main Road, Great Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 200m north east of its junction with Aragon Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (ZP001N0011948/1 – Gas Transportation Company).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sporhams Lane, Danbury/Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from the junction with Fitzwalter Lane for a distance of approximately 1190m in a south westerly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2408791 & EP201EH2408791A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while surface water alleviation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.7) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford & District of Epping Forest as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (City of Chelmsford & District of Epping Forest) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
