(Angmering: Barncroft Gardens and Longlakes Way
Amendment) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting at any time (introduce double yellow lines) on both sides of Barncroft Gardens at its junction with Drift Road in Angmering, and on the western side of Longlakes Way. Full details of the proposals in this notice can be viewed on the Traffic Regulation Order page of the WSCC website. The website includes a response form for any comments or objections.

People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any comments or objections about the proposal must be received before 20 August 2026. These may be submitted via the response form on the website mentioned above, by email to tro.consultation@westsussex.gov.uk or in writing to TRO Team, WSCC, The Grange, Tower Street, Chichester, PO19 1RH. For legal reasons, only correspondence including a full name and address will be considered. Please quote reference ARN9016-MM in all correspondence.

(Sompting: Dankton Lane)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Dankton Lane in Sompting from the A27 southwards to Rectory Farm Road.

The road closure is needed to allow highway improvements and drainage works to take place in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 3 August 2026 and remain in force until 31 October 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Sompting: Public Footpath 2071)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State has granted an extension to the above Order, made by WSCC under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath 2071 in Sompting, from its junction with Dancton Lane, north-westwards to its junction with the A27. The continued closure of this route is needed to maintain safety while a property development is constructed on adjacent land. The Order will now remain in effect until 1 August 2027, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. Unfortunately, during the operative period of this Order, no direct alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.

(Shoreham-By-Sea: Ship Street)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Ship Street in Shoreham-By-Sea throughout its entire length.

The road closure is needed to allow repairs to sewer pipes to be carried out in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 3 August 2026 and remain in force until 21 August 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
