What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A638 GREAT NORTH ROAD, RANSKILL AND SCROOBY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (BS26-233)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Ranskill and Scrooby in the District of Bassetlaw.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. A638 Great Noth Road, Ranskill - From its junction with B6045 Blyth Road to its junction with Snape Lane, Scrooby
b. A638 Great North Road, Scrooby - From its junction with Snape Lane Scrooby to its junction with A614 Blyth Road, Bircotes
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00 hours Monday 17th August 2026
Until 04:00 hours Saturday 22nd August 2026
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
A614 - A634 - A620 and vice versa
The Order will come into force on Monday 17th August 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable VIA EM on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Lining Works
