What is happening?

The North East Lincolnshire Borough Council (Taxi Rank Clearways & Loading) (High Street & Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes) (No.25-17) Order 2026

Section 1 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 7 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure (England and Wales) Regulations1996 (SI 1996/2489)

Notice is hereby given that North East Lincolnshire Borough Council propose to make a Road Traffic Regulation Order under powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:-

1. Revoke all "No waiting 6.00pm-6.00am except taxis" restrictions located on a section of the north eastern kerb line of Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, between the south eastern kerb line of Park Street and the north western kerb line of Phelps Street.

2. Revoke all "No Stopping except Hackney Carriages - Monday to Sunday, 6pm to Midnight, Midnight to 6am" restrictions on a section of the north westerly kerb line of High Street between Cross Street and Grant Street.

3. Revoke all "Loading Only - Monday to Sunday, 6.00am to 6.00pm" restrictions on a section of the north westerly kerb line of High Street, Cleethorpes between Cross Street and Grant Street.

4. Introduce "No Stopping except Hackney Carriages 11pm to 5am" restrictions on a section of the south easterly kerb line of High Street, Cleethorpes, between Cross Street and Osborne Street.

5. Introduce "Loading Only" restrictions on a section of the north westerly kerb line of High Street, Cleethorpes between Cross Street and Grant Street.

The Order shall come into operation on the date that the Council publishes a notice stating that the Order has been made.

A copy of the proposed Traffic Regulation Order giving more detailed information including all Schedules, Plans and the Council's Statement of Reasons for introducing the Order are available via North East Lincolnshire Council's Website by searching 'Advertised Traffic Regulation Orders'. Electronic copies can also be viewed on request at the Municipal Offices, Town Hall Square, Grimsby, during normal office hours.

All objections must be in writing, specify the grounds under which they are being made and include the reference 25-17 and be submitted by 21st August 2026.
