TEMPORARY RESTRICTION TO USE OF ROAD ORDER 2026

On the 27 July 2026 The East Renfrewshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order authorises to restrict vehicular access using a section of Ayr Road (the central gap between its access to Scholars Court and property number 147 Ayr Road), Newton Mearns, in order to facilitate the safe operation of Scottish Power utility works scheduled to be carried from Friday 14 August to Thursday 27 August 2026.

The Order authorises the closure of the road for the duration of the works.

Vehicular access to properties within the extents of the closure may be permitted by the contractor on site only when it is possible to do so in conjunction with the works going on at the time. Access for emergency vehicles attending an incident will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes:

Southbound out of Scholars Court:

  Ayr Road (northbound) – Parklands Roundabout – Ayr Road (southbound).

Southbound into Scholars Court:

  Ayr Road (southbound) – Eaglesham Road (eastbound) – Maple Avenue – Beech Avenue – Eaglesham Road (westbound) – Ayr Road (northbound).
