Verwood - Temporary Public Rights of Way Closures due to Electricity Works
What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway E54/9, Verwood
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Bridleway E54/9, Verwood from grid reference SU 10072 08971 to grid reference SU 10921 08891, a distance of approximately 850 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22nd August 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated the works will be complete by 3rd October 2026.
This Order is required to allow National Grid to carry out essential works to their power lines.
There is no suitable alternative route within the Rights of Way network on this occasion.

It will come into operation on 22nd August 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated the works will be complete by 3rd October 2026.
