What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDER

On 27 July 2026, Angus Council made “The Angus Council (Gala Day Parade at Edzell)(Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026”, under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that a public procession may take place.

The Order is effective between 11.30am and 1pm on 01/08/26, for the purposes of facilitating the holding of a relevant event, enabling members of the public to watch a relevant event, or reducing the disruption to traffic likely to be caused by a relevant event. The maximum duration in terms of the act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to: (i) prohibit vehicular traffic from driving on B966 High Street, Edzell from its junction with Ramsay Street northwards to the access to Edzell Muir car park, a distance of 700 metres or thereby. The prohibition of driving will be implemented on the basis of a “Rolling” road closure along the procession route under the control of authorised Stewards; and (ii) prohibit vehicular traffic from waiting on B966 High Street and Lethnot Road, Edzell. There is no alternative route for vehicular Traffic. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. Full details of the Order are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders.
