SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

 The Borough Council of Sandwell (Shelsley Avenue, Oldbury)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to t emporarily prohibit  vehicles from  proceeding via S helsley Avenue from its junction with Kempsey Close to its junction with Wolverley Crescent. Traffic will be diverted via Throne Road, Newbury Lane, Martley Road, Wolverley Crescent & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 14/08/2026, effective from 10/08/2026. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Halesowen Road, Cradley Heath)
(Temporary Cycle Lane Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit cyclists from proceeding via Halesowen Road, southbound between No.409 Halesowen Road & the southern kerbline of High Haden Road. Cyclists should dismount and follow the signage on site. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 11/08/20 (9:30am-3:30pm only). (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Barclay Road from its junction with Upper St Mary’s Road for a distance of 25 metres in a southerly direction. Traffic will be diverted via Upper St Mary’s Road, Wigorn Road, Lightwoods Hill & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 14/08/2026, effective from 12/08/2026. Purpose – to facilitate a new water service connection by South Staffs Water. (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Laburnum Avenue from its junction with Londonderry Lane for a distance of 35 metres. Traffic will be diverted via Londonderry Lane, Awfields Crescent, Yew Tree Lane & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 12/08/2026 (8:30am-5pm only). (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Sabell Road from its junction with Totnes Road for a distance of 35 metres in north-easterly direction. The one-way operation of Sabell Road between Totnes Road & St Paul’s Road will be suspended throughout the duration of the works with access and egress being allowed off St Paul’s Road. A diversion route for north-east bound traffic will be will be signed via Totnes Road, Dibble Road, Silverton Road, St Alban’s Road & St Paul’s Road. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence be completed by 13/08/2026 (9am-3:30pm only). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Kelvin Way, West Bromwich)
(Temporary One-Way Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding one-way in a easterly direction along Kelvin Way, which will be closed from the roundabout at the junction of Bromford Lane & Brandon Way for 70 metres. Traffic will be diverted via Brandon Way, Greets Green Road, Ryders Green Road, Phoenix Street, Great Bridge Street, Swan Roundabout, Black Country New Road, Albion Roundabout, The Expressway & Trinity Way. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 26/08/2026, effective from 10/08/2026 (24hr). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Pitfields Close, Oldbury)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along  Pitfields Close, which will be closed at the junction of Tame Road. Access to frontages will be maintained by site operatives, but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will not be required as Pitfields Close is a no through road. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 14/08/2026, effective from 13/08/2026. Purpose – to facilitate access to lay double red lines for a ‘no waiting at any time’ restriction by BAM Construction Ltd.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Pitfields Close, Oldbury)
(Temporary No Waiting At Any Time Restriction) Order 2026
intends to implement a temporary  ‘no waiting at any time’ restriction, which will be in operation for Pitfields Close in its enti reity. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the restriction is expected to be removed by the 13/02/2028, effective from 13/08/2026. Purpose – to facilitate access for construction traffic associated with the building of the new Perryfields Academy. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Myvod Road, Wednesbury)
(Temporary One-Way Operation And Side Road Closures) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Myvod Road as follows:

Phase 1 (anticipated dates 10 - 17/08/2026) – other than in an easterly direction, vehicles will be prohibited from travelling via Myvod Road between Wood Green Road & Hales Road. A diversion route for west-bound traffic will be signed via Wood Green Road, Axletree Way & Park Lane. Merryhurst Road will be closed at the point of its junction with Myvod Road for a distance of 18 metres. A diversion route will be signed via Merryhurst Road, Hales Road & vice versa. A prohibition of right turning will apply at the following junctions; a) Wood Green Road into Myvod Road. b) Houliston Close into Myvod Road. c) Barlow Road into Myvod Road. d) Wood Green Road flats car park into Myvod Road.

Phase 2 (anticipated dates 24/08 - 07/09/2026) – the access road to No’s 42-68 Myvod Road will be closed – access will be maintained when safe to do so. A prohibition of right turning will apply to the following junctions; Myvod Road into the access road to No’s 42-68 Myvod Road. A prohibition of left turning will apply to the following junctions: Myvod Road into the access road to No’s 42-68 Myvod Road.

Phase 3 (anticipated dates 14 - 21/09/26) – other than in a westerly direction, vehicles will be prohibited from travelling via Myvod Road between Hales Road & Wood Green Road. A diversion route for east-bound traffic will be signed via Park Lane, Axletree Way & Wood Green Road. Houliston Road will be closed – access will be maintained when safe to do so. Barlow Road will be closed at the point of its junction with Myvod Road for a distance of 18 metres. A diversion will be signed via Prince George Road, Myvod Road, Park Lane, Axletree Way & Wood Green Road. A prohibition of right turning will apply to the following junctions; a) Merryhurst Road into Myvod Road. b) Hales Road into Myvod Road. c) Myvod Road into Houliston Close. d) Myvod Road into Barlow Road.

The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 21/09/2026, effective from 10/08/2026. Purpose – to facilitate a major gas main replacement scheme by Cadent Gas Ltd. For more information contact Karen Westwood of Cadent Gas Ltd on 07345 246509.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Lombard Street West, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Lombard Street West, which will be closed from its junction with High Street for approximately 70 metres. Access t o any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via  High Street, Victoria Street, and Edward Street to access Lombard Street West from High Street. Traffic will be further diverted via Edward Street, Lodge Road, High Street to access High Street from Lombard Street West.  The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 21/08/2026, effective from 10/08/2026 (24hrs).
