NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(EAST RETFORD FOOTPATH NO. 9/BABWORTH FOOTPATH NO. 6A) DIVERSION ORDER (2026)
The above Order, made on 8th July 2026, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert the whole width of that part of East Retford Footpath No 9 and Babworth Footpath No.6A commencing from Point A [SK 6885 7981] proceeding in a West South Westerly direction across the golf course to the parish boundary at Point B [SK 6881, 7980] a distance of 38 metres and then across a field in a west south westerly direction to Point C [SK 6845 7968] a distance of 378 metres as shown on the order map, to a line commencing from Point A [SK 6885 7981] proceeding in a generally Westerly direction along a track for a distance of 45 metres to the parish boundary at Point D [SK 6880 7981] then along a track in a generally westerly direction for a distance of approximately 371 metres to Point F [SK 6844 7973] at the junction with Bridleway 5 having a width of 2.5 metres narrowing to 0.5 metres at a metal gate at point E [SK6874 7980] as shown on the order map.
A copy of the Order, Order Map and Statement of Reasons may be seen free of charge at my office at the address below between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive 30th July 2026 until 27th August 2026. Alternatively, copies of the Order and Map can be posted out or emailed if required. The documents will also be available to view at the offices of Bassetlaw District Council, Queen's Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Notts, S80 2AH and at Retford Public Library, 17 Churchgate, Retford, Nottinghamshire, DN22 6PE during their respective normal opening hours until 27th August 2026. Any representations about or objections to the Order must be received by the Countryside Access Team at the address given below not later than 27th August. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Nottinghamshire County Council may themselves confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with it.
