M25 Motorway, Junctions 26 To 25 - Temporary Traffic Restrictions To Works
What is happening?
M25 MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 26 TO 25
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Essex and the London Borough of Enfield under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road by contractors working on behalf of UKPN.
The effect of the Order would be to: -
1. authorise the overnight closures of: -
a) both carriageways of the M25 between Junction 25 (A10) and Junction 26 (A121); and b) all the roads leading to and from the above lengths of carriageway.
2. impose a 24-hour 50mph speed limit on the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point approximately 925 metres west of the Honey Lane underbridge and a point approximately 295 metres west of the Meridian Way (A121) underbridge.
This measure would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake pylon repair works and all associated works.
It is expected that the works would last for approximately 5 weeks starting on Wednesday 26th August 2026. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 05:30 hours.
The Order would come into force on 24th August 2026 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A121 and A10 in either direction.
The temporary closures, speed limit, and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
