THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF BUCKTON GATE, BUCKTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of
Buckton Gate, Buckton from its junction with B1229
Main Street heading south onto Bempton Lane then
east onto Short Lane and north onto Newsham Hill
Lane commencing 18 August 2026 at 08.00 hours
until 20 August 2026 at 17.00 hours. The reason
for the closure is to enable the proposed works to
install ducting and chambers for the new BDUK fibre
network on behalf of Quickline Communications, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within three days. The
alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via
Buckton Gate heading south onto Bempton Lane then
east onto Short Lane then north onto Newsham Hill
Lane and B1229 Main Street, Bempton CP, Bridlington
Central and Old Town Ward. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 18 August 2026 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
