What is happening?
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – WINCHESTER ROAD, ROMSEY, TEST VALLEY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of Winchester Road between its junction with Botley Road and its junction with Bridge Road
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Southampton Road, Luzborough Lane, Botley Road, Chilworth Road, Winchester Road, Bournemouth Road, Hursley Road, Bournemouth Road, Leigh Road, Romsey Road, Southampton Road, Wide Lane, Stoneham Way, Bassett Green Road, Chilworth Road, Botley Road, Luzborough Lane, Southampton Road
DURATION OF ORDER: from 15th August 2026 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 2 days, working between 22:00-06:00)
The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Xeiad to carry out a rail bridge inspection. If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order, please contact: r.caton@safer-roadworks.co.uk
Xeiad will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
