THE COUNTY OF PEMBROKE

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(2)

(TEMPORARY SPEED LIMITS AND CLEARWAY) (VARIOUS ROADS, EGLWYSWRW & CRYMYCH) ORDER 2026

Pembrokeshire County Council hereby gives notice that it has made an Order under Section 14(1) and 14(4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The Order is necessary to facilitate increased traffic flows associated with the National Eisteddfod, alleviate congestion at key junctions and ensure routes to the event site remain clear of parked vehicles.

The following temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced:

TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT

From its junction with the U3209 at Bwlch-y-Groes Crossroads, extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 750 metres to the south-west of the Glanrhyd settlement.

From its junction with the A487, proceeding in a south-westerly direction through the settlement of Glanrhyd for approximately 1,750 metres.

Junction A487 Croft to Junction C3144 Waunrhiod.

From its junction with the A487 Croft, proceeding in a north-westerly direction for approximately 650 metres.

From its junction with the A487, proceeding in a south-westerly direction for approximately 1,250 metres to a point approximately 100 metres east of the property known as “Old School” and where the bridleway meets the B4582.

Junction A487 Croft to Junction C3144 Waunrhiod.

From its junction with the A487 Croft, proceeding in a north-westerly direction for approximately 750 metres.
The restrictions will only apply when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Exemptions will apply for emergency service vehicles and vehicles being used in connection with the event, traffic management operations, highway maintenance works or other authorised works.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Order.

The Order comes into force at 06:00 hours on 30 July 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months, although the restrictions will only be in operation as required during the event.
