NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Oakwood Drive, Prestbury

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic. 

Prohibition of traffic – Oakwwod Drive, Prestbury For the full extent
No diversion required.
This order will come into operation on Monday 31st August 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Wednesday 9th September 2026.

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Kingston Road, Handforth – For the full extent
Ashford Close, Handforth – For the full extent
Windemere Road, Handforth – For the full extent
Sagars Road, Handforth – For the full extent

This order will come into operation on Wednesday 19th August 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Tuesday 1st September 2026

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS – Public Footpath No. 5
(Part) Parish of Prestbury

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 5 (part) which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 8936 7869 and runs in a generally northerly direction for approx. 51 m to OSGR SJ 8935 7873. 
The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of risk to the public due to erosion of the riverbank. 

The closure continues the restriction that came into force on 7th July 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed. 

An alternative route is available via the Public Rights of Way Network.
