Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility & Highway Works

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U8300 Back Lane, Monks Eleigh
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8300 Back Lane, Monks Eleigh from Halcyon to Eden Lodge to facilitate access to telegraph poles for overhead cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Back Lane, the A1141, The Street, Brent Eleigh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 29/07/2026 from 9:30am – 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U4205 Grove Road, Bentley
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4205 Grove Road, Bentley from Mulberry Tree Cottage for 30 metres southbound to facilitate repairs to a leaking water pipe. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Hazel Shrub, Bergholt Road, Station Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/07/2026 - 31/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of The U2109 New Street, Framlingham
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2109 New Street, Framlingham to facilitate repair works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Brook Lane, Mount Pleasant, Saxtead Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/07/2026 - 30/07/2026 from 8:00am – 5:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1127 Beccles Road And Wrentham Road, Wrentham And Henstead
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1127 Beccles Road, Wrentham from Wrentham Road for 93 metres southbound and the B1127 Wrentham Road, Henstead from Beccles Road to Model Cottages to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A145, the A146, the A12, the B1127 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 07/08/2026 from 9:30am – 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of The U1728 Sandpit Lane, Worlingham
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1728 Sandpit Lane, Worlingham to facilitate parapet repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Manor Close, College Lane, Sandpit Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 07/08/2026 from 8:00am – 5:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1078 Lower Road And High Street And The U4707 Cooper Road, Hemingstone, Coddenham And Gosbeck
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
1. B1078 Lower Road, Hemingstone from the junction with Main Road to Rectory Road.
2. B1078 Lower Road, Hemingstone from Rectory Road to High Street.
- B1078 High Street, Coddenham from Lower Road to Love Lane.
- U4707 Cooper Road, Gosbeck at the junction with High Street.

This is to facilitate fibre network installation. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Helmingham Road, the road from the U4707 to the U4729, Ipswich Road, Gosbeck Road, Debenham Road, Ipswich Way, the A1120, the A140, the B1078 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/08/2026 - 14/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C569 Wickham Road, Thornham Magna
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C569 Wickham Road, Thornham Magna from number 178 to the junction with The Street to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Wickham Road, Thornham Magna, The Street, Wickham Skeith, Finningham Road, Wickham Road, Finningham, the B1113, the A143, the A140, Workhouse Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 07/08/2026 from 9:30am - 3:30pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
