(SHOWELL ROAD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following
stretches of Showell Road in two phases:
l Phase 1 Bushbury Lane to junction of Comet Drive. It is
anticipated that the closure will operate from 11 August
2026 until 12 August 2026 Vehicular diversion route: .
Bushbury Lane, Showell Road and vice versa
l Phase 2 Bushbury Lane to junctions with Fourth Avenue/
Guy Avenue. It is anticipated that the closure will operate
from 12 August 2026 until 13 August 2026 Vehicular .
diversion route: Showell Road, Bushbury Lane and vice
versa
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken between the dates stipulated above, between
the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 each day.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway patch
repairs by CWC Highways.
