Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

(i) THEY PROPOSE To Make Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

CANTLEY, LIMPENHOE AND SOUTHWOOD AND FREETHORPE – C432 The Common from its junction with The Loke for 440m north-westwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 6th August 2026 (may continue until 17th September 2026). REDENHALL WITH HARLESTON – C205 Wilderness Lane from its junction with C571 London Road to its junction with U71535 Cranes Meadow to facilitate gas works from 27th July to 21st August 2026 (may continue until 21st February 2027). ROUGHAM – C671 The Street from its junction with C67 Road from Rougham to West Raynham (also known as Rougham Road) to 23m north of its junction with C236 Rougham Road to facilitate overhead fibre installation works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 30th July 2026 (may continue until 10th September 2026). Alternative route is via: C236 Rougham End, A1065 Eastacre Road, B1145 Lynn Road, C237/C67 The Street and vice versa (Weasenham All Saints, Lexham, Rougham). The works promoter is BT.

THETFORD – Birch Covert from its junction with Hazel Covert for 30m north-eastwards to facilitate stop tap replacement works from 29th to 30th July 2026 (may continue until 10th September 2026). Alternative route is via: U31743 Birch Covert, U31742 Sycamore Covert, U31668 Charlock Road, U31744 Hazel Covert, U31743 Birch Covert. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

KING'S LYNN – U20534 Friars Street from 25m north of its junction with U20530 Whitefriars Road for 30m northwards to facilitate electrical service installation works between 08:00 and 18:00 on 28th July 2026 (may continue until 8th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Friars Street, Southgate Street, London Road, Valingers Road, South Lynn Plain. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.

METHWOLD – C40 Severalls Road from 1824m west of its junction with U21375 Thornham Road for 83m westwards to facilitate HRA patching works from 29th to 30th July 2026 (may continue until 11th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Severalls Road, Broad Drove, Decoy Road, Feltwell Road, Southery Road, Long Lane, Short Beck, Hythe Road, Methwold Road (Southery, Feltwell, Methwold). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

OLD HUNSTANTON – U20001 Golf Course Road from its junction with U20006 Sea Lane for 40m south-westwards to facilitate stop tap repair works from 27th to 29th July 2026 (may continue until 9th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Golf Course Road, Old Hunstanton Road, Hamilton Road, Woodhouse Road (Hunstanton, Old Hunstanton). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

UPWELL – A1101 Welney Road from 1m south of its junction with U21022 Cock Fen Road for 50m northwards to facilitate telecoms mast repair works on 27th July 2026 (may continue until 7th September 2026). UPWELL – U21014 Mudds Drove from 700m northeast of its junction with A1101 Main Road for 100m north-eastwards to facilitate pole replacement works between 29th to 30th July 2026 (may continue until 10th September 2026). Alternative route is via: Mudds Drove, Main Road, Silt Road, Cross Drove. The works promoter is BT.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle tracks, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT), but may also be extended further by the Secretary of State.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
