(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
- No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Derby Street, Ormskirk from outside property number 24 to outside property number 26.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works. 3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 3rd August until 1630 hours on Friday 14th August 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- A59 County Road, A59 High Lane, A59 Liverpool Road South, A5209 Square Lane, A5209 Briars Lane, A5209 Lowry Hill Lane, A5209 Course Lane, A5209 Parbold Hill, A5209 Sparrow Hill, A5209 Hall Lane, A5209 Crow Orchard Road, A5209 Almond Brook Road, A5209 School Lane, A49 High Street, A49 Wigan Road, A49 Central Park Way, A49 Riverway, A49 Caroline Street, A49 Southgate, A577 Ormskirk Road, A577 Orrell Road, A577 School Lane, A577 Parliament Street, A577 Grove Road, A577 Dingle Road, A577 Ormskirk Road, A577 Newgate Road, A577 Windmill Road, A577 Stannanought Road, A577 Houghton Road, A577 Glenburn Road, A577 Neverstitch Road, A577 Ormskirk Road, A577 Blaguegate Lane, A577 Dickets Lane, A577 Wigan Road and vice versa
